4 Minutes Of Animals Sneezing Is Exactly As Cute As It Sounds
It’s 5pm. Otherwise known as Cute O’Clock. Our office is wrapping up it’s day with an adorable interlude like we’ve never seen. Because we’re kind, caring people, we want to share this joy with you. Sit back, press play, enjoy. Bless you.
H&M’s New “Plus Size” Model Is A Major Babe
We’re going to try something new here. We’re going to talk about a gorgeous plus size model without making any sort of reference to her size. See what we’re doing here? Yeah, let’s go with it. Because H&M’s newest plus size (cough cough, whatever, cough), model Jennie Runk is absolutely gorgeous.
You can catch more of Runk’s H&M swimwear shoot over at Buzzfeed, and if you’ve got your eye on any of the Beyonce for H&M tie-dye pieces, you’d better move fast to your local store and snap them up. If you’re more of an online shopper (trust us, we are too) check out some of the water-worthy finds at Keep.com, and create a foxy beach photo shoot of your own. Now, if we could just master that perfectly messy braid…

We Hope To Achieve Spousal Awesomeness Like This One Day
When is the last time you heard the phrase “married couple” and “awesome” in the same sentence? RIGHT NOW, that’s when! In a media universe hell bent on showcasing the downsides of marriage (“Friends With Kids”, anyone?), we were thrilled to see a real life couple have a spontaneous good time at the gas station. Confused? Watch the video above, and don’t try to contain your smiles. Just let ‘em fly.
Internet Explosion Of The Day: Phillip Lim For Target
I mean, should we just start waiting in line now? The news breaking the internet this morning is that Phillip Lim is the next all-star designer to partner up with Target. Set to hit stores on September 15th, 2013, we’re predicting Missoni-level hysteria.
As with any affordable-wave collaboration effort, anticipation of this collection will no doubt build steadily (in this case all damn summer), to the point where we’re sick of seeing ads before product hits the shelves. A small price to pay for limited edition designer goods that people with normal budgets can actually afford. Will you be donning a helmet and pads and lining up with the best of them? Or will you just, you know, wait for eBay?
Recap: Mom 2.0 Summit 2013!
by MaryAnn Bekkedahl
I’ve had a few days to re-adjust to normal life after a fun, sun-drenched trip to Mom 2.0 Summit. Walking away, the things that stood out the most to me were (aside from the unseasonably warm weather and amazing views!), the genuinely friendly (, welcoming and impressive) women I met during the summit. It was exciting and inspiring to interact with so many entrepreneurs at various stages in their ventures.
I must extend a huge thank you to Rachel Faucett of Handmade Charlotte for being a Mom 2.0 “mentor” for Keep at the summit. She’s enthusiastic in all she does, and introducing me to her colleagues, friends and peers was so appreciated.
After 17 years in the magazine publishing industry, it was a treat to attend panels on effective ways to work with brands and independent publishers (not “mommy bloggers!”), who are currently balancing journalistic integrity with effective strategies for marketing to maximize revenue. I would really enjoy the chance to lend my years of experience at a number of publications (Men’s Health, Women’s Health, Prevention, etc), to any of the Mom 2.0 Summit publishers who are looking for advice on building media partnerships and negotiating with brands—gratis!
Many thanks to Laura Mayes and her team for producing such an amazing conference that enabled networking, partnerships, learnings, and the chance to meet some truly inspiring moms.
Stop Everything You’re Doing Right Now This Instant
Allow us to shamelessly eat crow for a moment. Remember everything we said in this post about being able to celebrate punk outside of the Met Gala? Yeah, we’re IDIOTS. The saintly people at Moda Operandi are selling, actually selling the dresses from the Met Gala’s red carpet.
Before May 14th, you can pre-order the red carpet looks. Which looks are we talking about? Better head to Keep.com to find out. To be fair, one might well fork over a year’s rent to walk away in one of these frikkin fabulous gowns, but if that’s not an issue for you a) go for it, and b) can we be friends?
Practical Punk: Because We Don’t All Get To Go To The Met Ball
While our invitation to the Met Ball clearly got lost in the mail, we’re still sold on the resurgence of punk. And while the A-list get to strut about in the likes of Burberry, Givenchy, and Wes Gordon, we need to keep things a little more wallet-friendly, and perhaps slightly more practical. (Spiked belt, anyone?)
The internet isn’t shy on shoppable punk these days. Rather than beginning your quest from scratch, let Keep help. Shop the Punk Rock collection below to prove this trend isn’t celeb-only. We can play, too.
Met Gala Best Dressed: Our Picks
Our heads have stopped spinning following last night’s live tweet of the Met Gala. Charlize’s belt, SJP’s mohawk, whatever the hell was happening with Miley’s hair, we saw and commented on it all. Make sure you’re following us on Twitter for more live tweet action in the future.
If you pinned us down and really made us pick a favorite, we couldn’t do it, hence the split-screen image above. Cara Delevingne and Rooney Mara brought it. The point was not to dress punk, or dress for the Met Gala, but to dress punk for the Met Gala. There’s a difference, and these two nailed it with the hammer of Thor. (Honorable mention to Anja Rubik by the way, dayum girl).
Delevingne wore a (custom, sigh) Burberry gown with a gravity defying plunge and on-theme studding. Mara’s Givenchy was made punk from pretty with addition of zippers and on-point hair and makeup. While we think many, many other looks absolutely slayed, these two stole our hearts. Brava.
